Straw Bale Immersion

The goal of this course is to give you the basic learning components of a straw bale build. This course will cover; foundations, stacking bales, load bearing compression box beams, roofing & natural plasters! The project outcome is to build and complete a section of our new plaster classroom space. We will be building our new plaster panels for students to use while honing in on their natural plaster craft.

We have a lot of domes that need plastering and joining our plaster party is a great way to get involved in our community as well as getting your hands dirty to learn some plastering techniques. 

Experience Includes:

• 1 Day Full Experience
• Complete a small straw bale project from start to finish.
• Professional instruction by The Mojave Center staff
• Optional recreation; date farm tours, hot springs, visit neighboring dome projects & farms and dance parties
• Healthy meals during course for any dietary restriction

Friday

6pm : Arrival + Camp Set up

8pm : Optional Hotsprings or Fire Hang

Saturday

8am : Breakfast provided by you.

9am : Group Dynamic Game!

10-12pm  : Lecture, Straw Bale stacking

12 pm: Lunch provided by the MC

1-3 pm : Roof Completion & Plasters

6pm : Dinner provided by MC

8am : Breakfast, provided by you! :)

9am : Event Closure & Departure!
